Dispatch
Scaling your crew without losing dispatch clarity
Adding trucks should not mean losing the board. Here’s how growing teams keep dispatch readable as headcount climbs.

The first five techs fit in one dispatcher’s head. At fifteen, tribal knowledge becomes the bottleneck. Scaling the crew without scaling clarity turns growth into chaos.
One board, shared definitions
Statuses mean the same thing for every truck: en route, on site, waiting on parts, complete. When each region invents its own language, leadership cannot see capacity—and dispatchers cannot cover for each other.
Skill and territory tags beat heroics
As you hire, tag certifications, equipment, and preferred zones. Dispatch should filter, not memorize. Hero dispatchers who “just know” become single points of failure the week they take vacation.
Escalate exceptions, not every job
Define what needs a human decision—SLA risk, VIP accounts, multi-tech jobs—and let the rest flow. Growing companies drown when every assignment requires a meeting.
