Dispatch
Dispatching jobs to technicians
Good dispatch is matching the right job to the right truck at the right time—and making that match visible to everyone involved.

Dispatch is the operating system of a field day. When assignment is fuzzy, techs idle, customers wait, and the office spends the afternoon on the phone.
Match skill and parts before speed
The closest truck is not always the right truck. Wrong-skill assignments create callbacks. Check certification, stock, and job type before optimizing for miles.
Assign with live status, not a static map
A tech who looks free on a printed sheet may still be finishing a complex call. Live status—on site, wrapping up, delayed—keeps the next assignment honest.
Tell the field and the customer in one move
When a job is assigned, the tech should see scope and notes immediately, and the customer should get the updated window. Double communication from two systems is how messages conflict.
